COLUMBUS, Ohio --The Ohio Dominican men's basketball team continues its opening month of play with back-to-back games in West Virginia this week.
The Panthers will travel to face Alderson Broaddus at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 17. ODU then heads to Salem the next day for a 6 p.m. tip-off, Thursday, Nov. 18.

Ohio Dominican enters play in the Mountain State with an 0-2 overall record after dropping games to Ferris State and Drury last weekend.

The Panthers were led by Alek West (Sylvania, Ohio), who on opening night against Ferris State, registered 25 points, 10 rebounds, nine assists and four steals. West paces ODU at 16.0 points and 7.5 assists per game.

Marcus Johnson (Columbus, Ohio) was the lone Panther to score in double figures in both games last weekend, as the freshman is averaging 14.5 points and 4.0 rebounds on 42.1 percent shooting.

ODU is receiving scoring production from its bench unit, combining for 76 reserve points over the first two games.

Both Sean Marks (Delaware, Ohio) and Max Stepaniak (Ross, Ohio) have double-digit scoring games this season as reserves.

Stepaniak is averaging 7.0 points on 77.8 percent shooting.

The Panthers averaged 19.0 assists during the opening weekend, an average that ranks second in the G-MAC and 19th in Division II.

ODU continues a long road stand that will feature five games away from home to start the 2021-22 season.

Alderson Broaddus went 6-11 overall and 6-10 in Mountain East Conference play during a COVID-shortened winter a year ago.

Last season was AB's first season in the MEC after previously being a member of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference with ODU.

Salem was 6-6 last season, including a 59-58 win at ODU in the 2019-20 season opener.
