Men's Basketball Defeated in Final Road Game at Malone

CANTON, Ohio -  The Ohio Dominican Panthers (9-18, 5-14 G-MAC) men's basketball team closed out the road schedule with a Great Midwest contest against the Malone Pioneers (13-14, 9-10 G-MAC) at Osborne Hall.  

Malone managed a season split with an 81-51 win over the Panthers on Thursday (Feb. 27) night. 

BOX SCORE NOTES
  • Elijah Hinton led the team with 19 points and five rebounds, making eight-of-14 field goals. The Newark, Ohio native had the only block for the Panthers. 
  • Brady Moore scored nine points along with two assists and four rebounds.
  • Derek Goodman and Zac Kimball made a pair of three pointers, each totaling eight points. Kimball grabbed four rebounds in his 26 minutes of work.
  • Terrance Broughton had five points with two assists. 
  • Ohio Dominican shot 36.5% from the floor in the game, making 19-of-52 field goals. Malone finished with a 52.5% field goal percentage as they were 31-of-59 on the floor.
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Kimball opened the game with a three pointer, giving the Panthers an early 3-0 lead. 
  • Malone scored seven straight points as a part of a 15-4 run as the Pioneers led 15-7 with 12:31 left in the first half. 
  • A Hinton three point play closed the lead to 15-10 just seconds later but Malone responded and pushed the lead to as many as 24 in the remaining 12 minutes. Malone led 46-22 at halftime. 
  • The Pioneers outscored the Panthers 35-29 in the second half for an 81-51 win. 
UP NEXT
  • The Panthers will host Cedarville for the final game of the 2024-25 season on Saturday (March 1) at Alumni Hall. Tip-off for Senior Day will be at 3:00 PM.
