GAME NOTES
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio Dominican's men's basketball team opens the new year traveling to Cedarville and Alderson Broaddus Thursday and Saturday.
The contest with Cedarville will tip off at 7:45 in the Callan Athletic Center while the matchup with the Battlers begins at 4 p.m. Saturday.

The Panthers open the 2020 slate of their schedule with a 4-9 record in 2019 including 1-3 in the G-MAC.
The ODU offense scores 71.8 points per game led by seniors Hasan Varence (Queens, New York) and Sam Hickey (Toledo, Ohio) scoring 17.5 and 16.2 points, respectively.
Freshman Alek West (Sylvania, Ohio) has started the last two games for the Panthers where he is scoring 6.5 points per game on 46% shooting along with grabbing 3.3 rebounds and two assists per game.
Junior forward Matt King (Mason, Ohio) is averaging 7.2 points per game which is fourth on the team on 40% shooting while grabbing 3.2 rebounds per game as well.
The Panthers have faced off with the Yellow Jackets five times with Cedarville holding a 4-1 edge with the lone Panther win coming February 10, 2018 by a final score of 63-58. ODU and the Battlers have faced off five times in the Division II era with ODU holding a 3-2 advantage winning the last three contests. The matchups date back to November 15, 2014 when the Panthers and Battlers faced off in a game AB won 66-55 in the Don Callan Classic hosted by Cedarville.
About Cedarville
The Yellow Jackets come into 2020 with a 7-5 overall record and a perfect 4-0 in the G-MAC. Cedarville is coming back from a holiday trip to Florida where they lost 91-84 to No. 5 Nova Southeastern and beat Lynn 87-84 in overtime.
The Cedarville offense averages 83.1 points per game this season with five players averaging double-figures including three averaging at least 15 points. Brandon Maughmer leads the Jackets at 16.3 points per game while Connor TenHove and Quinton Green are at 15.4 and 15.2, respectively. TenHove also leads Cedarville on the glass averaging 8.1 rebounds per game where the team grabs 39.1 rebounds per contest.
Isaiah Speelman and Kollin Van Horn are the other two Jackets averaging double digits scoring 11.0 and 10.3 points per game. After Cedarville hosts the Panthers they will host Ohio Christian on Saturday.
About Alderson Broaddus
The Battlers open their 2020 slate with a 1-10 record and have lost seven straight including their first three to open G-MAC play.
AB averages 72.6 points per game this season on 41% shooting with four players averaging double figures led by Malik Bocook who nearly averages a double-double at 16.4 points and 9.1 rebounds per game. Troy Cantrell averages 14.8 points and 7.4 rebounds while KJ Walker and David Shriver averages 13.4 and 11.6 points per game, respectively.
The Battlers will host Ohio Valley on Thursday before the Panthers head to Philippi on Saturday.
