COLUMBUS, Ohio - To conclude the home schedule, the Ohio Dominican Panthers (18-8, 12-6) men's basketball team looked to send the seven seniors out with a win as the Hillsdale Chargers (10-16, 7-11) came to Alumni Hall.
Ohio Dominican started off strong and led wire-to-wire in a 91-76 win to extend their current win streak to five games and sweep the Chargers for the first time in program history.
BOX SCORE NOTES
- Derek Goodman tied his season-high with 25 points on nine-of-15 shooting. He made five threes out of eight tries, also tying his best mark of the season. He grabbed four rebounds and dealed out three assists.
- Caleb Conard scored 17 points with three rebounds as he converted six-of-seven free throws while five-of-11 on field goals.
- Elijah Hinton had a team-high seven rebounds with 15 points on six-of-12 shooting with three-of-four free throws.
- Terrance Broughton knocked down three triples for 11 points with three assists.
- Carson Seemann scored seven points with five rebounds, making both field goal attempts and three of his four free throw tries.
- Logan Ryan scored six points off the bench with a three pointer and three free throws.
- Kenny Scott had five assists in 15 minutes off the bench with two steals.
- Ohio Dominican was 49.2% (30-61) from the field while shooting 57.9% (11-19) from three and 80.0% (20-25) from the free throw line.
- Hillsdale shot a 52.0% (26-50) field goal percentage, 31.3% (5-16) from three and 67.9% (19-28) at the stripe.
- The Panthers took care of the ball with four turnovers (a season-best) while forcing Hillsdale into 13 turnovers leading to 22 points.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Ohio Dominican started off hot with a 20-3 run over the first seven minutes, making eight-of-11 shots. After Hillsdale cut the 4-0 lead to 4-3 with a three, ODU scored 16 straight points.
- In the next four minutes, Hillsdale went on an 11-1 run as they trailed 21-14 with 8:49 left. Three minutes later, Hillsdale pulled within seven again at 29-22 on five straight free throws.
- An 8-0 Panthers run with back-to-back threes from Goodman and Ryan got the lead back to 15 at 37-22. ODU led by 15 three more times as they took a 43-28 lead into halftime.
- Hillsdale scored the first basket of the second half to get the lead down to 43-30 as that would be the closest point of the second half.
- Hinton scored two straight layups, forcing the Chargers to use their last timeout with 15:42 left, pushing the lead above 20 at 56-34.
- The lead stayed above 19 points and was expanded to 79-51 on a Broughton three pointer with 7:58 left - the largest lead of the day.
- The Chargers trimmed the lead to 89-74 with a 23-10 run and finished the game with a 25-12 push to get the lead to 15, 91-76.
