JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – Ohio Dominican's men's basketball team was defeated 94-76 Saturday afternoon by Pitt-Johnstown in non-conference action.

Senior Sam Hickey (Toledo, Oho) led the Panthers with a season high 30 points with 26 coming in the second half, while fellow classmate Hasan Varence (Queens, New York) recorded his second double-double of the season with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Junior Matt King (Mason, Ohio) also finished in double figures for the Panthers finishing with 10 points and five rebounds. 

The Panthers (1-2) got off to a slow start as UPJ opened a 33-5 lead 12 minutes into the contest. The Panthers started 2-for-20 from the floor and ended the first half shooting just 22.6% (7-of-31). UPJ took a 48-20 lead into the half after shooting 53% from the floor (18-of-34) including 8-of-17 from behind the arc.

The second half saw ODU outscore UPJ (3-1) 56-46 and the Panthers shooting 53% (19-of-36) and 54% from distance (7-for-13) while making all 11 free throw attempts. Hickey was 9-for-11 in the second half, making all six of his free throw attempts.

The Panthers return home when they host Kentucky St. Tuesday, November 19 with tip set for 5:30 p.m.
