The Ohio Dominican men's tennis team earned a tough road win on Friday morning, winning 6-3 against Lake Superior State.
Doubles play saw the Panthers find a way to win 2-of-3 courts to build momentum. Tyler Johnston (Sr./Wilmington, OH) and Gerardo Perez (Jr./Mexico City, Mexico) got ODU started, winning on court three, 8-3. Ritchie Kruunenberg (Fr./Nieuw-Vennep, Holland) and Justin Tjon (So./Wilemstad, Curacao) fought off one match point, winning in a tie-breaker 9-8(6) to secure the Panthers second point.
In singles, ODU got two straight set wins from Kruunenberg and Tjon to get within one point of the match win. Tjon won his match on court two, 6-2, 6-2. Kruunenberg earned a win on court one, winning 7-5, 6-1. After LSSU earned wins on two courts, the Panthers got matches from Johnston on court three, 2-6, 7-5, 6-1 and Perez on court six, 6-3, 6-0.
