BAY CITY, Mich. – Ohio Dominican freshman tennis player Gabor Csonka (Nyiregyhaza, Hungary) closed out his season in style with a 4-0 record against the GLIAC's top-two ranked teams, earning the conference's Men's Tennis Player of the Week award.
Against Grand Valley on Saturday, Csonka breezed to a 6-2, 6-2 victory at No. 1 singles and partnered with junior Justin Tijon (Willemstad, Curacao) to score an 8-4 victory at No. 1 doubles.
Playing against Ferris State on Sunday, Csonka defeated reigning GLIAC Player of the Year Laurent Galarneau 7-6 (11-9), 6-2, and again teamed with Tijon for a win at first doubles by a score of 8-5.
This is the second player of the week honor for Csonka, who also earned it on March 30. He finished his season with a 23-1 record in singles and a 21-2 record in doubles.
