The Ohio Dominican men's tennis team put together a strong team performance against visiting Davis & Elkins, winning 6-3 on Sunday morning.
Doubles play saw the Panthers take 2-of-3 courts. Tyler Johnston (Sr./Wilmington, OH) and Gerardo Perez (Jr./Mexico City, Mexico) earned ODU's first point win an 8-3 win on court three. After jumping out to an early 5-2 lead, Ritchie Kruunenberg (Fr./Nieuw-Vennep, Holland) and Justin Tjon (So./Willemstad, Curacao) did enough, winning 8-6 on court one.
In singles action, the Panthers took 4-of-6 courts in straight sets to earn the regional win. Tjon gave ODU the 3-1 advantage with a 6-3, 6-0 win on court two. Johnston earned his second straight singles win on court four, taking it 6-2, 6-2. Patrick Ohanian (Jr./Hudson, OH) earned a dual match win on court five, 6-2, 6-4; while Perez closed out the Panther scoring with a 6-0, 6-0 win at #6 singles.
The Panthers will return to action on Sunday, March 23rd as they play host to Wayne State University.
