The Ohio Dominican men's tennis team earned a 9-0 GLIAC win over visiting Malone University on Friday afternoon; their third conference win of the season.
In doubles play, Tyler Johnston (Jr./Willmington, OH) and Patrick Ohanian (So./Hudson, OH) came out strong, winning 8-2 on court two. Jeremy Mokry (Jr./Hilliard, OH) and Tito Bonadonna (Sr./Caracas, Venezuela) continued their strong play, winning 8-3 on court three. Walid Gtari (Fr./Tunis, Tunisia) and Justin Tjon (Fr./Willemstad, Curacao) won a tight match on court one, closing out the match with a tough break of serve, 9-7.
In singles, ODU earned straight set wins on all six courts. Gtari earned a 6-1, 6-1 win on court one, while Gerardo Perez (So./Mexico City, Mexico) won on court five, 6-0, 6-3. Ohanian earned a strong win on court six, 6-1, 6-0. Mokry and Tjon each won their singles matches at #3 and #4 singles, winning 6-2, 6-1 and 6-3, 6-1, respectively. Bonadonna finished the sweep for the Panthers winning 6-4, 6-3 on court two.
ODU returns to action tomorrow at Panther Courts as they play host to Lake Erie College. The match is set to begin at 2 p.m.
