The Ohio Dominican men's tennis team concluded their weekend in Michigan on Saturday afternoon, dropping another tight contest, 5-4 to Ferris State University.
Doubles started slow for the Panthers as they were unable to grab control of the matches early on, losing 2-of-3 courts. Tito Bonadonna (Sr./Caracas, Venezuela) and Jeremy Mokry (Jr./Hilliard, OH) cotinued their strong play on court three, winning a tight 8-6 match.
In singles, ODU fought hard in the early stages building confidence but could only split the singles matches, dropping the 5-4 decision. Walid Gtari (Fr./Tunis, Tunisia) earned a solid win on court one, 6-4, 7-6(7) while Justin Tjon (Fr./Willemstad, Curacao) and Gerardo Perez (So./Mexico City, Mexico) earned wins on courts five and six, 7-6 (6), 6-2 and 6-3, 6-1 respectively.
The Panthers will now head to Orlando, Florida for non-conferences matches over their spring break week. Matches begin March 2nd.
