Springfield, Ohio - The Ohio Dominican men's tennis team welcomed Grand Valley State University to Springfield, Ohio for a GLIAC match-up with the Lakers. The Panthers took 2-of-3 doubles courts, but it wasn't enough as GVSU won 5-of-6 singles courts for the conference win, 6-3.
Doubles play continues to show improvement for the Panthers as they looked strong on Saturday morning. Earning points for ODU was Igor Carvalho (Fr./Belem, Brazil) and Bernardo Feitosa (Jr./Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) on court one, 8-3, and Conrad Klank (Sr./Dayton, OH) and Claude Badowski (Jr./Oundle, England) on court two, 8-5.
Entering singles play with a 2-1 advantage, the Panthers looked like a upset was in the making. GVSU came on strong, holding on to tight matches on courts one, two and six for the GLIAC win. Earning the lone singles court for Ohio Dominican was Carlos Perez (Jr./Miami, FL) on court four, 6-4, 1-0 (df).
The Panthers will return to GLIAC play on Tuesday, April 5th as they play host to Findlay at Panther Courts. The match is set to begin at 3 p.m.
