Columbus, Ohio - The Ohio Dominican men's tennis team returned home on Tuesday afternoon, hosting their first GLIAC match. The Panthers broke their four match losing streak, sweeping all nine matches against Tiffin University to earn their first GLIAC win.
In doubles play, the Panthers took early leads in each match and were able to hold on for the doubles sweep. Earning points for ODU was Igor Carvalho (Fr./Belem, Brazil) and Bernardo Feitosa (Jr./Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) on court one, 8-5 and Greg Dillon (Sr./Fort Wayne, IN) and Carlos Perez (Jr./Miami, FL) on court two, 8-3. Also earning a doubles point was Conrad Klank (Sr./Dayton, OH) and Claude Badowski (Jr./Oundle, England) on court three, 8-6.
In singles play, Ohio Dominican took 6-of-6 courts to finish off the Dragons. Earning singles points were Feitosa and Badowski on courts one and two, 6-4, 7-6 (3) and 6-1, 6-4. Carvalho and Dillon each earned their first conference singles win, earning points at #3 and #5 singles, 4-6, 6-3, 10-8 and 6-1, 6-4. Rounding out the wins for the Panthers was Perez and Robert McMahan (Sr./Dunwoody, GA) on courts four and six, 6-3, 7-5 and 6-2, 6-1.
The Panthers will return to action on Friday, March 25 as they welcome Case Western Reserve University to Panther Courts for a men's and women's double header. The men's match is set to begin at 4 p.m.
