INDIANAPOLIS, IN - For the second time this season, an Ohio Dominican Panthers softball player has earned Great Midwest Athletic Conference honors—but this time the recognition comes on the pitching side—as sophomore
Emma Grau was named Pitcher of the Week following a dominant stretch in the circle.
Grau powered the Panthers through an unbeaten run, posting a perfect 3-0 record on the week while tossing 20 scoreless innings across three complete-game shutouts. She limited opposing lineups to just 12 hits and one walk while striking out nine, earning shutouts against Lake Erie, Malone, and Northwood.
Opponents managed just a .169 batting average against her as Ohio Dominican closed the regular season on a seven-game winning streak, including six straight victories during the week. Adding to her standout week, Grau also made an impact at the plate, launching three home runs in a doubleheader against Malone.
The Panthers and Grau now turn their focus to the week ahead as the G-MAC Tournament begins. ODU enters as the No. 2 seed and will face the No. 7 Ursuline Arrows at Firestone Stadium on Wednesday, April 27.
