AKRON, OH - The second round of the G-MAC Tournament at Firestone Stadium began earlier this afternoon, featuring the No. 2 Ohio Dominican Panthers against the No. 3 Ashland Eagles in the winners bracket. The Panthers fell to the Eagles in a tight 1–0 contest.
Pitcher Emma Grau went the distance, throwing all seven innings while allowing five hits and only one run, along with four strikeouts. Offensively, the Panthers managed four hits across the game.
The lone run came in the first inning when Ashland scored on a sacrifice fly. Following the loss, the Panthers moved on to face the No. 5 Hillsdale Chargers.
In their second game of the day, the Panthers dropped another close matchup, falling 3–1. Alyvia Lawrentz got the start and pitched three innings, allowing three hits and three runs. Grau entered in relief, tossing four scoreless innings while giving up four hits.
Hillsdale capitalized early, scoring their first run in the top of the first inning on an RBI groundout, followed by a two-run home run later in the game.
Ohio Dominican's lone run came in the fourth inning when Avery Mueller scored on a wild pitch.
With the two losses, the Panthers conclude their run in the Great Midwest Athletic Tournament, finishing the season with a 29–22 overall record and a 19–5 mark in conference play.
