NORTH CANTON, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican Panthers outdoor track and field team had one last chance to prepare for the Great Midwest Championships as they competed at the Walsh Tune-Up on Wednesday (April 24) and Thursday (April 25).
On the track at Larry Staudt Field, the Panthers set three school records in the women's javelin and men's long jump and 1500 meters.
1st Place Finishes
- Ashley Chmielewski (Roscommon, Mich.) – javelin school record of 32.37 meters
- Cole Miller (Bainbridge, Ohio) – long jump school record of 7.01 meters
2nd Place Finishes
- Brooke Armbrust (Grove City, Ohio) – 12.23 seconds for the 100 meters, 8th fastest 100 meter time in program history
- Eugene Boahen (Columbus, Ohio) – 22.01 second time in the 200 meters
5th Place Finishes
- Eayuel Gebrtsadik (Columbus, Ohio) – 1500 meter school record of 3:57.69, first sub four minute race in school history
- G'nae Morrison (San Antonio, Texas) – 26.75 seconds in the 200 meters
6th Place Finishes
- Owen Wilhelm (Sunbury, Ohio) – topped out at 1.85 meters in the high jump, tied for third best mark
7th Place Finishes
- Grace Pitt (Hilliard, Ohio) – set another PR of 1:10.73 in the 400 meter hurdles, takes over the 5th fastest time in the program's history after jumping to 5th last week
8th Place Finishes
- Ismael Obas (Columbus, Ohio) – 11.31 second time in the 100 meters; 9th place in the 200 meters at 22.70 seconds
- Kassydee Owens (Harlan, Kentucky) – 200 meter PR of 27.34 seconds
Other Finishes
- Nikane Ambos (Wapakoneta, Ohio) - Javelin throw PR of 21.36 meters
- Aly Diaby – 22.76 seconds as the tenth place finisher for the 200 meters
- Benjamin Seely (Chesterton, Indiana) – 11th in the 100 meters, running a 11.41 second time (3rd fastest time of the season); 12th place in the 200 meters with a 22.83 second time (2nd fastest mark of the season)
- Manny Codjoe (Bolingbrook, Illinois) – season-best 200 meter time of 23.59 seconds in 19th place; 21st place finish in the 100 meters, 11.76 second time
- Mustafa Al-Saibawi (Columbus, Ohio) – second best season mark of 36.02 meters in the hammer throw, 20th place; 11.36 meters in shot put (2nd best season throw) in 26th place
- Blake Wilson (Medina, Ohio) – 20th in the 200 meters at 23.80 seconds for season debut in the 200
- Rogan Hanson (Craig, Alaska) – 32nd in the 1500 meters, running his second fastest time of the season (4:22.66)
- Aidan Shannon (Columbus, Ohio) – just missed 1500 meter PR with a final time of 4:23.92, 33rd place
- Edward Devaney (Lexington, Ohio) – 1500 meter PR of 4:30.42, 37th place
- Gabrielle Reed (Pickerington, Ohio) – outdoor PR for 1500 meters at 5:22.81 in 33rd place (3rd fastest 1500 meter for ODU this season)
- Jeralyn Strawn (Lancaster, Ohio) – 5:28.06 time in the 1500 meters, 35th place
- Jaclyn Strawn (Lancaster, Ohio) – PR in the 1500 meters (5:29.40) for 36th place
- Tyra McClain (Van Wert, Ohio) – second fastest 1500 meter time of the season individually, 5:35.10 in 42nd place
- Anna Blackstone (Lexington, Ohio) – PR in the 1500 meters, 5:44.18 in 47th place
- Kylee Henry (Circleville, Ohio) – ran her second fastest 1500 meter race (5:47.43) in 48th place
- Alyza Camp (Waynesville, Ohio) – just beat her 1500 meter PR (5:53.24), 49th place
