ASHLAND, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican Panthers indoor track and field team competed against the top teams in the conference at the 2026 Great Midwest Indoor Track & Field Championship this weekend.
 
The Panthers were ninth of 11 teams in the men's standings with nine points while the women finished in tenth place with eight points scored.
 
2^nd Place

• Peyton Proffitt: 4.03 meter mark in the pole vault (school record and NCAA provisional mark, currently tied for 9^th in Division II)
  • Tied for best finish in the pole vault for program

3^rd Place

• Virtner Crews III: 6.82 second final in the 60 meters after running a 6.84 second time in prelims (2^nd and tied for 5^th fastest all-time)
  • Tied for best finish in the 60 meters for program

7^th Place

• Eayuel Gebrtsadik: 4:13.37 in the mile (PR and school record)
  • Best finish in program history for the mile

8^th Place

• Merrick Shorter: 14:52.53 in the 5000 meters (PR and school record)
  • Tied for best finish in the 5000 meters for program

• Men's 4x400 Relay (Barry, Crews, Louprasong, Thomas): 9^th place with a 3:27.12 time
• Kiera Archer: 59.47 seconds in the 400 meter prelims for 14^th place (PR and 10th fastest all-time)
• Merrick Shorter: 8:33.31 in the 3000 meters for 14th place (2^nd all-time)
• Eayuel Gebrtsadik: 8:33.99 in the 3000 meters for 16^th place (3^rd all-time)
• Ismael Obas: 7.11 second prelim time in the 60 meters in 20^th place; 26^th place in the 200 meter prelims at 22.86 seconds
