Armbrust Breaks Two More Records at Ashland

ASHLAND, Ohio - The Ohio Dominican Panthers indoor track and field team competed in the Ashland Invitational on Saturday (Jan. 20) afternoon at the Niss Athletic Center. 

Over the course of the day, two Ohio Dominican records fell and five marks entered the Division II performance lists for the program. Brooke Armbrust (Grove City, Ohio) broke her own 60 and 200 meter records. 

1st Place Finishes

  • Brooke Armbrust - 7.56 seconds in the 60 meter finals after 7.66 seconds in the prelims, broke the ODU record and hit NCAA D2 Provisional Marks (3rd in the G-MAC this season)

3rd Place Finishes

  • Eugene Boahen - 6.91 seconds in the 60 meter finals (tenth fastest mark in D2 era), ran a 6.98 second prelim mark 
  • Brooke Armbrust - 3rd in the 200 meter dash with a ODU record of 25.40 seconds, sits 7th in the G-MAC performance lists

4th Place Finishes

  • Eugene Boahen - 22.10 seconds for 200 meters, has the seventh fastest time in the program history

8th Place Finishes

  • Merrick Shorter (Dublin, Ohio) - 8:54.70 time in the 3000 meter, third fastest time in the Division II era
  • Owen Wilhelm (Sunbury, Ohio) - 1.86 meters in the high jump
Other Finishes
  • Jeralyn Strawn (Lancaster, Ohio) - 9th in the 3000 meters with a PR of 11:26.67.
  • Eayuel Gebrtsadik (Columbus, Ohio) - 12th in the 3000 meters with a 8:57.81 time
  • Tyler Wallace - 7.14 seconds in the 60 meter prelims, finishing 12th overall; set a PR with a 23.46 second 200 meter time
  • Kaelin Pfeifer (Washington Court House, Ohio) - 12th in her 400 meter debut
  • G'nae Morrison (San Antonio, Texas) - 26.62 seconds in the 200 meters for 12th place; 8.24 seconds in the 60 meters, 23rd in the prelims
  • Jacob Krous (Galena, Ohio) - 12th place in the mile with a 4:31.35 time
  • Jaclyn Strawn (Lancaster, Ohio) - finished 14th in the 3000 meters with a PR of 11:54.35
  • Ismael Obas (Columbus, Ohio) - 7.17 seconds in the 60 meter prelims for 14th place; finished 19th in the 200 meters - 23.12 seconds (PR)
  • Kylee Henry (Circleville, Ohio) - added a personal best of 12:32.57 in the mile, 16th place finish
  • Anna Blackstone (Lexington, Ohio) - made her 3000 meter debut with a 12:57.40 time
  • Cole Miller - 7.20 seconds in the 60 meter prelims for 17th place, 18th in the 200 meters (23.12 seconds)
  • Aly Diaby - 51.13 seconds in the 400 meter run - 17th place 
  • Benjamin Seely (Chesterton, Indiana) - 7.26 seconds for 18th place in the 60 meter prelims; 22nd place in the 200 meters - 23.26 seconds
  • Jana Griffith - 1:05.45 time in the 400 meters, 18th place finish
  • Aidan Shannon (Columbus, Ohio) - PR of 9:30.39 in the 3000 meters, 18th place finish
  • Grace Pitt - finished 19th in the 400 meters, time of 1:05.93
  • Nikane Ambos (Wapakoneta, Ohio) - 1:06.58 time for the 400 meters, 20th place finish
  • Edward Devaney (Lexington, Ohio) - 20th place in the mile with a time of 5:03.85
  • Mustafa Al-Saibawi - 20th in the weight throw with a 13.31 meter throw and 11.58 meters in the shot put
  • Shyla Pemberton - 21st in the 200 meters (27.55 seconds)
  • Alyza Camp (Waynesville, Ohio) - personal best of 6:39.54 in the mile
  • Isaac Eugene - 52.26 second time in the 400 meter, 26th place
  • Rogan Hanson (Craig, Alaska) - 2:18.52 in his 800 meter run
  • Blake Wilson - 57.02 time in the 400 meters
  • Marie Pascaline Ndayshimye - 9.35 meters in the shot put
  • Henry Pierce - 10.02 meters in the shot put and 10.04 meters in the weight throw
  • The 4x400 relay team of Wilson, Seely, Eugene, Diaby combined to run a 3:35.73 mark in 17th place

The Panthers will return to action on Saturday (Jan. 27) at the Wittenberg Steemer Showcase.
