COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican volleyball team opens its fall season with four games this weekend on the road in Frankfort, Ky. at the Kentucky State Invitational.
The Panthers will play two games on Friday, Aug. 26, starting with Edinboro at 2:00 p.m. followed by a 6:00 p.m. match against West Alabama. Saturday, Aug. 27, the Black and Gold will play at 11:00 a.m. against Maryville (Mo.) and again at 5:00 p.m. versus Kentucky State.
Ohio Dominican finished the 2021 fall season with a 17-14 record under head coach Amy Bambenek. With a conference mark of 9-7, ODU made it to the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Volleyball Tournament semifinals.
Last Season
Returning junior, Kelsey Shoup (Dalton, Ohio), received Third-Team All-G-MAC honors after leading the team with 549 digs, ranking third in the G-MAC. She averaged 4.8 digs per a set a season ago.
Senior Madison Smith (Elyria, Ohio) averaged 2.58 digs per set last season. She collected 79 kills and 14 assists.
Second-Team All-G-MAC honoree Olivia Kirksey (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) recorded double-figure kills in 20 matches. She was second on the team with 328 kills and 63 blocks.
Senior outside hitter Kamryn Maxwell (Norwalk, Ohio) added 216 kills and 112 digs last fall. She averaged 2.57 kills per set.
Defensive specialist Alexis Keipert (Burlington, KY) registered 226 digs, ranking third on the team. She also tallied 13 services aces and 16 assists in her sophomore campaign.

The Panthers continue of the road as they travel to Crestview, Ky. that following Tuesday. First serve is set for 6:00 p.m. at the Connor Convocation Center where they face Thomas More.
