COLUMBUS, Ohio – To put a cap on the regular season, the Ohio Dominican volleyball team will host Trevecca Nazarene and Ky. Wesleyan this weekend while honoring their two seniors.
The Panthers are coming off a 2-1 week, sitting at 11-17 overall with a 6-9 mark in conference play. Junior Kelsey Shoup (Dalton, Ohio) was awarded South Division Defensive Player of the Week after collecting 54 total digs and a career-high 35 digs against Tiffin.
Outside hitter Olivia Kirksey (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) leads the way averaging 3.31 kills per set. Kirksey had registered double-figure kills in 17 matches and nine double-doubles on the season thus far.
Freshman setters Gabrielle Kirker (Tallmadge, Ohio) and Saige Avery (Yorkville, Ill.) have split time at the position all season. Kirker averages 5.57 assists per set with Avery following with 4.95 assists per set.
At the service line, the Black and Gold have notched 176 total services aces, ranking third in the conference. Leading the team is Kirker and Shoup with 34 each. Alexis Keipert (Burlington, Ky.) has 33 service aces.
About TNU
The Trojans are 18-10 overall and 10-5 in the G-MAC. The two met for the first time this season back on Sept. 16 with Trevecca on top, 3-0. TNU averages 12.36 kills per set and lead the conference with averaging 1.99 service aces per set.
About KWC
In the first meeting on Sept. 17 between the Purple Panthers and the Black and Gold, ODU won the match 3-1. KWC has an overall record of 6-20 and a conference record of 2-13. Ky. Wesleyan averages 10.7 kills per set and 10.2 assists per set.
First serve is set for 6 PM on Friday Nov. 4 against Trevecca. Ohio Dominican will honor their two seniors, Madison Smith and Kamryn Maxwell on Saturday ahead of the 1 PM start time against Ky. Wesleyan.
