FINDLAY, Ohio - The Ohio Dominican Panthers women's golf team battled through 54 holes at the Findlay Country Club for the William Beall Fall Classic on Monday (Oct. 3) and Tuesday (Oct. 4).
Ohio Dominican shot identical rounds of 319 on Monday to sit in 11th place after 36 holes. The Panthers ended the event in 8th place after improving to a 317 round total.
Freshman Sydney Devore (New Philadelphia, Ohio) led the Panthers and finished on the All-Tournament Team with a 221 overall total. She was tied for fourth after the scorecards were turned in. On day one, Devore shot rounds of 75 before dropping down to a one-under 71 on Tuesday. She led the Panthers with nine birdies and 32 pars.
Senior Alyssa Newsom (Granville, Ohio) was second for the Panthers, finishing with a 246 after a best round of 78.
Freshman Caroline Tragesser (Murrysville, Pa.) was one stroke behind Newsom at a 247 total. Tragesser's best tally for the tournament was 80 in round two.
Sophomore Sarah Anderson (Ashland, Ohio) followed up Monday's scores of 82 with an 84 for a 248 event total.
Junior Abbey Dillon (Bolivar, Ohio) finished the 54-hole slate with a score of 250 after one round of 82 and a pair of 84's. Dillon was one of five players with an eagle for the tournament.
As the individual, freshman Meg Saffell (Somerset, Ohio) shot 264 with a best round of 85 in round two.
The fall season for the Panthers will conclude at the Davenport Fall Invitational on October 15th and 16th at Stonehedge Golf Club in Augusta, Michigan.
