WASHINGTON, Mich. - The Ohio Dominican Panthers women's golf team headed north to the state of Michigan for the Wayne State Warrior Invitational on Monday (Sept. 22) and Tuesday (Sept. 23). 

In their first 54-hole event for the season, the Panthers were tenth of 13 teams on the links at Orchards Golf Club. Ohio Dominican had rounds of 330, 337 and 326 to tally a grand total of 993. 

The Panthers had 11 birdies and 134 pars as a team. 

• Sydney Devore: Had the best tournament for the Panthers in a 17th place tie; totaled 232 (+16) with rounds of 8-over 80, 6-over 78 and 2-over 74
  • Tied for 8th most pars in the tournament with 34 pars
• Alyssa Rishty: Tied for 47th place with a 250 (+34) as an individual; scored her collegiate low round of 6-over 78 along with rounds of 88 and 84
  • Had the most birdies for the Panthers with five
• Marissa Cline: Finished one stroke behind Rishty at a 251 (+35) in 50th place - shot round scores of 84, 86 and 9-over 81
• Maria Briceno Vargas: 56th place with a 256 (+40), tallying two rounds of 86 and 84
• Alana Miller: Tied for 57th place, shooting 257 (+41) - started the tournament with an 83 before back-to-back rounds of 87
• Meg Saffell: Tallied 268 (+52) in a 70th place tie with rounds of 83, 97 and 88

The team will play in the Findlay William Beall Fall Classic in two weeks.
