AUGUSTA, Mich. - The Ohio Dominican Panthers women's golf team concluded the Fall portion of the schedule in the Davenport Panther Invitational on Saturday (Oct. 11) and Sunday (Oct. 12).
After shooting a season-best 307 in the first round, the Panthers finished with their best 36-hole score of 634 (+58) after a 327 in the second round. Ohio Dominican was eighth of 12 teams in the final team standings. They had 12 birdies and 87 pars as a collective team.
- Maria Briceno Vargas: Tied for 13th place as the best Panther finisher - was 10-over 154 with rounds of 3-over 75 and 7-over 79
- Her first round of 75 was her second best round of the season.
- 22 pars in the event, most on the Panthers
- Alana Miller: Tied for 25th place with career-lows for a round (74) and 36-hole total, shot 158 (+14) with rounds of 2-over 74 and 84
- Led the team with four birdies in the tournament (T-8th most)
- Sydney Devore: Finished tied for 29th place, two strokes behind Miller with a 160 (+16); shot identical rounds of 8-over 80
- Marissa Cline: 39th place overall with a season-best 163 (+19) after shooting 6-over 78 and an 85
- Alyssa Rishty: Tied for 44th place with a career-low 166 (+22), scoring 82 and 84 in her two rounds
- Ava Kemp: Finished as top Panther individual in a 51st place tie with a 169 (+25), shot 90 in round one before shooting a career-low 7-over 79 in round two
- Mia Steigerwald: 56th place finish with a career-low 172 (+28) after rounds of 85 (career-low) and 87
- Meg Saffell: Shot 91 in round one before not playing in round two
The team will resume action in the Spring segment in early March.
