COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican volleyball team is traveling to Lake County this weekend to compete in the 14th annual Midwest Regional Crossover in Hammond, Indiana.
The Great Lakes Valley Conference and the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference will join the Great Midwest Athletic Conference in competition at the Hammond Sportsplex.
To open the event, the Panthers will take on GLVC opponents on Friday, starting with Illinois-Springfield at 12:30 PM (EDT) on court one. They return to court one at 5:30 PM (EDT) to battle Maryville (Mo.). On Saturday, the Black and Gold will face off against GLIAC competitor Parkside at 10:00 AM (EDT) from court three.
The Panthers are currently 8-13 overall and 5-7 in the G-MAC.
Junior Kelsey Shoup (Dalton, Ohio) is in route to become the 12th player in program history to collect 1,000 career digs. She currently sits at 970 digs. Shoup averages 3.27 digs per set.
Setters Saige Avery (Yorkville, Ill.) and Gabrielle Kirker (Tallmadge, Ohio) both have accumulated over 300 assists a piece so far in their freshman campaign.
At the net, junior Olivia Kirksey (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) leads the way with 3.01 kills per set. Behind her is Lauren Lucas (Grove City, Ohio) averaging 2.43.
Freshman Grace Zinchuk (Schaumburg, Ill.) and Jenna Peters (Vermilion, Ohio) are in front with a combined 97 total blocks. Zinchuk has collected 51 with Peters registering 46.
GLVC Opponents
The Prairie Stars are 7-9 overall and 3-4 in their conference. Junior Regan Trueblood averages 7.85 assists per set for Illinois-Springfield. Outside hitter Angela Denney leads the team with 4.40 kills per set.
In the first meeting between the Saints and the Panthers, Maryville took the match 3-1 at the KSU Invitational. Maryville is 13-7 overall and 3-5 in the GLVC. Freshman Ella Brinkmann leads the team with a total of 263 kills on the season.
GLIAC Opponents
The Rangers sit at a mark of 7-11 overall and 2-8 in GLIAC play. Sophomore Elizabeth Truckenbrod averages 3.23 digs per set for Parkside. Karlee Lois has tallied 329 assists this season.

Tickets are sold at the door and are $12/person per day, $5 for seniors 65-over, OR $20 for a 2 day pass.
