Box Score CHARLESTON, W.VA – The Ohio Dominican women's soccer team tallied three goals in five minutes en route to defeating Ohio Valley University by the score of 3-0 on the road in Charleston, West Virginia, on Wednesday afternoon.
The action began quickly as the Panthers looked to strike first. Forward Mari Silvestri (Solon, Ohio) registered the first shot on target for the Black and Gold in the seventh minute. The ball would change feet numerous times over the next few moments, but the visitors would regain possession near the midfield line just before the 16th minute.
Junior midfielder Katlyn Jamiel (Wilmington, Ohio) played a long ball to forward Callan Myers (Hillsboro, Ohio) who crept behind the Ohio Valley defense and beat the diving goalkeeper to her right to give the visitors a 1-0 lead.
Just one minute later the Black and Gold doubled its lead as midfielder Lindsay Buten (Cincinnati, Ohio) unleashed a cross from the left-hand side of the pitch. The ball bounced in front of Fighting Scots goalkeeper Sindi Kanto before it was touched In by Samantha Buck (Reynoldsburg, Ohio).
The goal is a milestone for the Panther senior who collected the 30th goal of her career.
Sophomore midfielder Emily Wittekind (Cincinnati, Ohio) added an emphatic exclamation point as she rocketed a shot from nearly 25 yards out past a diving Kanto and into the right corner to give the visitors a 3-0 advantage.
All three Panther goalkeepers saw action during the win as Jadelyn McNerney (Springboro, Ohio), Alivia Tavernier (Bellbrook, Ohio), and Kaitlin Grady (Twinsburg, Ohio) combined to give the Panthers their sixth clean sheet of the season.
Shutout Streak
ODU is just one of 11 teams in NCAA Division II that has yet to allow a goal during this campaign. With Wednesday's win, the Black and Gold's shutout streak moves to an impressive 580 minutes of scoreless soccer. It now becomes the best scoreless streak in program history with the previous record being a stretch of 550 minutes of scoreless soccer during the 2011 campaign.
Deadly DuPratt
Head coach Reilee DuPratt is unbeaten since she took over the program in May 2020. Standing with a record of 4-0-2, she is off to the best start of any Panther head coach in the Division II era.

The Black and Gold return to Sunbury Road to begin a three-game homestand. The Panthers welcome Tiffin University to campus on Saturday evening with kickoff scheduled for 6 PM.
