OWENSBORO, KY - The Ohio Dominican women's soccer team traveled to Owensboro to face the Kentucky Wesleyan Purple Panthers, coming away with a 2–1 victory.
The Panthers controlled much of the offensive play, outshooting KWC 14–9, including five shots on goal compared to the hosts' two. Kentucky Wesleyan held a slight advantage in corner kicks, earning four to ODU's three.
In goal, KWC's goalkeeper made three saves while allowing two goals. For the Panthers,
Ella Schnitzer recorded one save and allowed one goal. Both teams played a physical match, with ODU committing six fouls and KWC eight.
Kerinne Mueller and
Madeline Hartke led the attack for the Black and Gold. Mueller took four shots—scoring once—while
Hartke scored on one of her two attempts.
All three goals came in the second half. Just six minutes after halftime,
Hartke netted her third goal of the season to give ODU the lead. Seven minutes later,
Mueller found the back of the net for her first goal of the year, assisted by
Ashlyn Haeft and
Kendall Windsor. Twelve minutes after that, KWC's Haylie Panter scored her fourth goal of the season to cut the deficit in half.

The win marked Ohio Dominican's fourth of the season. The Panthers will look to close out their regular season strong on Tuesday when they face Cedarville at 5 p.m. inside the Yellow Jacket Soccer Complex.
