SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican track and field team competed at the Wittenberg Invitational on Saturday afternoon. The men's team finished fifth of nine teams while the women's team placed fourth of nine teams.
For the men, sophomore Michael Hawkins (Dublin, Ohio) placed fourth in the 100 meter finals with a time of 11.24. Junior Dominick Smith (Dayton, Ohio) placed sixth in the 800 meter with a time of 2:02.36.
Junior Connor Callahan (Pataskala, Ohio) also finished in the top-10 for the Panthers, crossing the finish line with a time of 2:04. 30 in the 800 for a eighth place finish.
Sophomore Matt Rosebrock (Napoleon, Ohio) finished fifth in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 58.49.
Freshman Patrick Ferguson (Austintown, Ohio) was first in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 10:24.43.
Senior Nick Green (Wapakoneta, Ohio) placed second on the shot put with a mark of 15.60 meters.
On the women's side, sophomore Alex Hall (Westerville, Ohio) was second in the 200 meter with a time of 26.23.
Sophomore Nicole Brown (Columbus, Ohio) and freshman Kayla Statema (Warren, Ohio) placed in the top-10 in the 800 meter run with a third and fourth place respectively. Brown had a time of 2:29.17 and Stateman finished with a 2:29.44.
Senior Mallory Kitts (Springfield, Ohio) was seventh in the 1500 meter run with a time of 5:14.76 and junior Tara Walker (Lewis Center, Ohio) was second in the 5000 meter run with a time of 18:21.61.
Ohio Dominican will compete on April 11-12 at the All-Ohio meet.
