KENT, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican indoor track & field teams competed in the Kent State Tune-Up on Saturday afternoon in the Kent State Fieldhouse on the campus of Kent State University. The meet featured a mixture of teams from NCAA Division I, II and III schools.
Sophomore Taylor Williams (Houston, Texas) placed 11th in the 200, posting a time of 22.33. Teammate, junior Ashton Hall (Huber Heights, Ohio) was 14th in the 800 with a time of 1:57.96.
In the 1000 meter run, sophomore Halston Jones (Columbus, Ohio) was 15th with a time of 3:22.22 and junior Aaron Johnson (Troy, Ohio) followed up his strong performance at the Ohio State Tune-Up with a seventh place finish in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.31.
Senior Nick Green (Wapakoneta, Ohio) had a strong showing in the shot put, throwing 15.19 meters.
On the women's side, sophomore Alex Hall (Westerville, Ohio) placed in the top-20 in the 200, finishing 14th with a time of 26.36. Freshman Shakita Kabicek (Brook Park, Ohio) also placed in the top-20, finished 14th in the 800 with a time of 2:23.16.
Junior Tara Walker (Lewis Center, Ohio) finished in the top-10 in the 3000 meter run, running a 10:39.09 for a ninth place finish.
In the field events, junior Taylor Williams (Akron, Ohio) placed 19th in the shot put, throwing 11.52 meters. Williams also finished 11th in the weight throw with a mark of 15.34 meters. The 4x400 team raced to an eighth place finish with a time of 4:09.01.
Ohio Dominican will compete at the GLIAC Indoor Championships March 1-2 in Hillsdale, Mich.
