TIFFIN, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican track
and field teams kicked off the 2013-14 indoor season at the Tiffin
Open on Saturday afternoon in the Tiffin-Heminger Center.
On the men's side, the Panthers had a very successful day,
placing in the top-10 in almost every race.
Highlights included first places finishes by junior Ashton Hall
(Huber Heights, Ohio) in the 600 meter dash, with a time
of 1:27.39. Junior Connor
Callahan (Pataskala, Ohio) took first in the mile with
a time of 4:54.63, while freshman Patrick
Ferguson (Austintown, Ohio) placed first in the 3000
meter run with a time of 9:44.63.
In the men's 1000 meter run, the Panthers took spots two-through
eight with sophomore Austin
Kilgore (Pickerington, Ohio) placing second after
crossing the finish line with a time of 2:45.52.
ODU also swept the mile, having eight Panthers take the
top-eight spots.
The team of Hall, sophomore Taylor
Williams (Houston, Texas), freshman Anthony
Allwein, and junior Xavier
Leonard (Atlanta, Ga.) captured a first place finish
in the 4x400 meter relay after finishing with a time of
3:36.08.
On the women's side, ODU placed Panthers in the top-six in the
1000 meter run with sophomore Nicole Brown (Columbus,
Ohio) taking the top spot with a time of 3:23.72. Brown
also took first in the mile after finishing with a time of
5:41.77.
The Panther also swept the 3000 meter run. Senior
Mallory Kitts (Springfield, Ohio) took first with
a time of 11:27.79.
Ohio Dominican will next compete at the Otterbein Invitational
on Jan. 18, 2013.
