About the Panthers:
The Panthers (2-1-0) bounced back from a 1-0 overtime loss to Bellarmine Wednesday night, scoring two goals in the final minute and a half securing the 3-0 victory over Urbana in non-conference action Wednesday night at Panther Field.

The Panthers controlled the majority of the action on the pitch, holding an 18-6 advantage in shots and a 6-0 advantage in corner kicks, but had to survive several late run outs by Urbana before pulling away in the end.

Senior Jennifer Holton (Johnstown, Ohio) put the Panthers on the board early, scoring her 20th career goal off of a corner kick by sophomore Broegan Sautter (Bellville, Ohio) 10 minutes into action to give ODU the 1-0 lead. The score remained that way for the remainder of the half, with Urbana managing just two shots for the period.

The Panthers came out firing in the second half, squeezing out 12 shots in the frame, but had trouble earning separation. Urbana had several good scoring opportunities with a pair of shots in the 73rd and 74th minutes, with the first being blocked by ODU's defense and the second saved by sophomore Laura Clark (Lapeer, Mich.).

ODU kept its pressure up down the stretch, with sophomore Emily Spencer (Gibsonia, Pa.) scoring at the 88:35 mark on a through ball up the middle from Lauren Pratt (West Chester, Ohio) to make it 2-0. Less than a minute later, sophomore Jordan Mazzi (Galena, Ohio) hit the crossbar on her shot attempt, but Pratt was there to clean it up for the final tally of the game, her first collegiate goal.

Clark earned her second shutout victory of the season by recording three saves in net.

About the Yellow Jackets:
The Yellow Jackets come into the match with a 0-2 record. In their home opener against Davis & Elkins, the visiting Senators netted the game's only goal in the 57th minute to beat Cedarville, 1-0.

The Senators had the better chances and finally broke through in the second period. It was the first-ever NCAA Division II contest for the Lady Jackets.

D&E outshot the hosts 12-6 overall and 4-2 in shots on goal. Alysia Bennett was credited with three saves in goal.

In the 2-0 loss to Tiffin, each team placed four shots on goal, but the Dragons found the back of the net once in each half to remain perfect in the all-time season series against CU at 11-0-3.

Tiffin, 2-1 overall, scored in the 32nd minute for a 1-0 lead at the half. The visitors needed just 69 seconds into the second period to tally again.

The Lady Jackets had the edge in shots overall at 13-11. Their best opportunity came midway through the first half when Jacoby Ziegler nearly broke a scoreless tie with a laser off the crossbar.

The Series:
These two teams first met in 2000 and since then, the Panthers have accumulated a 8-2-1 record against the Yellow Jackets. In their last meeting, ODU walked away with a 3-0 victory at Panther Field on October 8, 2010..

In the win, the Panthers scored within the first six minutes of the contest, courtesy of a Megan Augusta (Lyndhurst, Ohio) goal from 14 yards deep to the left side of the goal.

Play was quite even up to intermission with ODU holding a slim 5-4 edge on shots, but the Panthers found their offensive niche midway through the second with a pair of scores in a four minute stretch. The first score came at the foot of leading scorer Jennifer Holton in the 63rd minute as she carried the ball ahead about 25 yards and placed the ball off the far right post from the short left wing, 15 yards away.

Kristyn Kajganich (North Royalton, OH) added an insurance goal with 24:32 left to play on a low blast from a distance of 22 yards in the deep left wing to the near side goal.
