BAY CITY, Mich. – Sophomore Tara Walker (Lewis Center, Ohio) was named the GLIAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the week today, the first student-athlete from Ohio Dominican's cross country programs to earn the award.
Walker broke her own school record for the second-consecutive week, finishing in a time of 18:21.3 at Friday's National Catholic Cross Country Invitational, hosted by Notre Dame. In a field that featured a dozen Division I schools and 266 runners, Walker placed 24th, which was the third-best time by a Division II runner in the field.
The sophomore had set ODU's record a week prior at Ohio Wesleyan when she finished in 19:08.6.
Walker and the Panthers will compete Saturday at the Otterbein Invitational.
