COLUMBUS, Ohio- Coming off a 1-0 win over Ashland on Wednesday, the Panthers are ready to take on Walsh University this Friday, Oct. 5 on Panther Field.
About the Panthers:
With their third shutout of the season, ODU improves to 5-4-2 on the year while the Eagles fall to 2-9-0 overall.
Scoring her fourth goal of the season, freshman Lauren Pratt (West Chester, Ohio) scored the game's only goal after she connected to the high right corner of the goal from freshman Summer Bourcier (Mansfield, Ohio) in the 38th minute of the first half.
The Panthers defense managed to keep the Eagles at bay, only allowing them one shot in the first half and just seven total for the game. ODU edged Ashland in shots 14-7 while the Eagles held a 5-4 advantage on shots on goal.
Both teams tied in corner kicks with two a piece and the Panthers committed just four fouls.
Sophomore goalie Laura Clark (Lapeer, Ohio) grabbed four saves in goal.

Walsh ended its four-game home stand with a 3-0 defeat by the No. 8 team in the nation in Grand Valley State University. The Lakers scored three first-half goals to go ahead and remain unbeaten on the year. The Cavaliers ended their first four-game stand at Milazzo Field on the plus side with a 2-1-1 record following two wins last weekend and a draw with Ferris State on Friday.
Grand Valley controlled the ball for the majority of the game and inundated the Walsh defense with 28 shots on the afternoon. The first of those shots to find its way into the back of the net came in the third minute as Autumn Jacobs scored from 20 yards out. The Lakers were held at bay for the next 26 minutes until Maria Brown scored her conference-leading seventh goal of the year to make it 2-0. Charlie Socia scored in the 36thminute to set up the final count.
The Cavaliers' goalies-by-committee were tested throughout and came up with some big saves in the game. Taylor Stano received the start and made six saves on 14 shots faced. Michaella Stucky played the second and recorded 10 saves, also on 14 shots faced.
Walsh's best chance to score came midway through the second half as the Cavs' mounted some offensive pressure on a free ball that found its way in front of the feet of Jessie Gearhart. Gearhart had about 25 yards of open space between her and the goal and promptly fired a shot just under the crossbar that would have gone in if it wasn't for a last second touch-save by Grand Valley's Chelsea Parise.

These teams first met in 2000 where the Cavaliers walked away with a 3-0 win. Since then, the Panthers have held a 9-1 advantage in the series, including a 5-0 win streak.
