HOUGHTON, Mich. - Traveling to Michigan's upper peninsula to begin GLIAC play proved no problem for the Ohio Dominican women's soccer team as they tamed the Huskies of Michigan Tech University for their third consecutive 1-0 victory.
Kirsten Hoy (So./Worthington, OH) became the third different goal scorer for the Panthers this season when she scored in the 30th minute from six yards out. Christen Adams (Fr./Sylvania, OH) assisted on the play, becoming the third different Panther to tally an assist this year.
ODU continued its stingy defensive play, outshooting the Huskies 14-8 and holding them to six shots on goal. Aimee Simonet (Sr./New Albany, OH) recorded three saves in each half to pick up her third shutout decision.
The Panthers will look to make it four straight on Sunday, Sept. 12 at 1 p.m. when they complete their Michigan road swing against Northern Michigan University. After starting their inaugural season 1-0, Michigan Tech will look to rebound from two straight losses when they host Minnesota-Duluth in the fourth game of an eight game homestand.
