ALLENDALE, Mich. - The Ohio Dominican Panthers women's golf team opened their third straight year at the NCAA East Regional on Monday (May 5).
ODU shot 321 for the first round of the Regional, held at the Meadows Golf Club at Grand Valley State, sitting 13th of 18 teams.
Panther Results:
- Caroline Tragesser: 78 (+6) for the first round, tied for 23rd place
- Tallied back-to-back birdies on the 5th and 6th holes (both par 4's)
- Maria Briceno Vargas: Finished with a 79 (+7) with a 30th place tie
- Tied Tragesser for the team lead with two birdies (6th hole - par 4 & 14th hole - par 5)
- Marissa Cline & Sydney Devore: Both shot 82 (+10) in the opening 18 holes, tied for 63rd place
- Cline had two birdies on the front nine, including par 5 1st hole and par 3 3rd hole
- Devore opened the back nine with a birdie on the par 4 10th hole
- Ellyn Deibel: 84 (+12) in the first round, tied for 76th place
Ohio Dominican tees off for the 2nd round on Tuesday (May 6), beginning at 8:50 AM.
