Women's Golf Nets 2nd Lowest 54-Hole Score at G-MAC Championships

FLORENCE, Ind. - The Ohio Dominican Panthers women's golf team competed in the 2025 Great Midwest Women's Golf Championship this week at the Belterra Golf Club on Thursday (April 24) and Friday (April 25). 

Despite battling some rough weather conditions that saw day one be shortened to about 27 holes, the Panthers finished fourth of ten teams with a 946 total (+94), the second lowest 54-hole total in program history. ODU shot rounds of 313, 315 and 318 for the event. 

As a team, the Panthers had 14 birdies (T-5th) and 138 pars (4th most). 

Panthers Results
  • Caroline Tragesser: Top finisher for the Panthers with a 12th place finish, tallying a 231 (+18) with three rounds of 6-over 77
    • Tied for 7th with 33 pars in the standings, leading the Panthers
  • Sydney Devore Maria Briceno Vargas: Both were tied for 21st place going +26 at 239
    • Devore shot two rounds of 8-over 79 before ending with an 81 in round three; her 54-hole total was tied for her season-low
      • She led the Panthers with six birdies in the tournament
    • Briceno Vargas started with a 7-over 78 with a second round of 9-over 80 and 81 in the third round
  • Marissa Cline: Set a career-low for 54 holes with a 240 (+27) tied for 23rd place; had a pair of 8-over 79 rounds on Thursday and an 82 on Friday in the final round
  • Ellyn Deibel: 30th place with a 246 (+33) in the event; scored a event-low 8-over 79 in the final round, improving from a first round 87 and second round 80
Ohio Dominican will wait for the NCAA selections to see if the Panthers will be making a third straight trip to the NCAA East Regional.
