NEW CONCORD, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican Panthers outdoor track and field team opened the 2025 outdoor slate with a good showing at the Amy Adams Memorial Invitational at Muskingum University on Saturday (March 29).
In the first meet of the outdoor season, the Panthers scored 36 points on each side with the women placing eighth of ten teams and the men sitting ninth of nine teams. There was one school record broken, 23 personal bests and six top three finishes at McCongha Stadium.Â

- Ismael Obas:Â Tallied a PR of 10.94 seconds in the 100 meter finals after an 11.09 second prelims time (4th fastest time)
- Merrick Shorter:Â 9th best all-time in the 500 meters with a 15:31.12 time

- Ismael Obas:Â 22.81 seconds in the 200 meters, setting an outdoor personal best
- Shyla Pemberton: 13.04 seconds in the 100 meter finals after a 13.00 second prelims time (5th fastest); 26.77 seconds in the 200 meters for another 4th place finish

- Virtner Crews III: 11.09 second time in the 100 meter prelims - did not run in the finals despite qualifying
- Aboubacar Soumahoro:Â 1.85 meters for the high jump - an outdoor PR
- Faith Yancey: PR of 12.82 seconds in the 100 meter prelims (2nd fastest) and followed it with a 13.08 second finals time

- Eva Dulle: 10th place outdoor PR in the 800 meters with a 2:38.63 mark; 14th place for the 1500 meters at a 5:11.23 PR time
- Anna Blackstone: 10th place PR of 21:23.93 in the 5000 meters
- Joseph Chandler: PR of 11.30 seconds for the 100 meter prelims in 11th place
- Alyza Camp:Â 13th place for the 5000 meters at a 23:24.41 time (PR)
- Aboubacar Soumahoro:Â 14th in the long jump with a 5.29 meter mark; 18th in the 100 meter prelims with an 11.89 second time
- Yagouba Barry: 15th place with a 200 meter PR of 23.50 seconds (fastest in his heat)
- Brandon Ammons: Made his debut in the discus throw with a PR of 30.32 meter throw, 15th place
- Aileen Castillo: 15th place in the 800 meters (outdoor PR) with a 2:51.12 time; PR of 5:45.18 in the 1500 meters, finishing 32nd place
- Naomi Haring: 16th in the 100 meter with a 13.97 second PR; 30.19 seconds in the 200 meters for an outdoor PR (20th place)
- Felix Prewitt:Â Outdoor PR of 24.37 seconds for the 200 meters in 21st place
- Jamarion Hall: 22nd place in the 200 meters with a PR of 24.40 seconds
- Gabrielle Reed:Â 31st in the 1500 meters with a time of 5:45.18
The Panthers will compete at Wilmington and Cincinnati next weekend for the second weekend of action.
