Bane Leads Panthers in South Carolina Spring Opener

PAWLEY'S ISLAND, SC - The Ohio Dominican Panthers men's golf team spent Spring Break on a trip to South Carolina for the first event of the Spring season. 

For the first event, Ohio Dominican shot 602 (+26) for the Pawley's Island Beach Bash at The Founders Club at Pawleys Island on Wednesday (March 12) and Thursday (March 13). As the hosts on the men's side, the Panthers recorded team scores of 303 (+15) and 299 (+11).

ODU was sixth of 15 teams, finishing in a logjam between fourth and seventh place. St. Thomas Aquinas was 4th place at 600 while Chowan was in 7th place with 606. 

Panthers Results
  • Jeremiah Bane: Was one stroke off the medalist spot with a career-low 140 (-4) - after shooting 1-under 71 in the first round, he tied his career-low with a 3-under 69; made 26 pars (tied for the most) and seven birdies (tied for 4th)
  • Jack Lindgren: Tied for 16th place with a 152 (+8), shot 6-over 78 and 2-over 74
  • Yadhu Urs: Totaled 156 (+12) after rounds of 82 and 2-over 74, finished tied for 32nd place
  • Nash Linder: Top ranked individual for the Panthers in 36th place - shot rounds of 5-over 77 and 8-over 80
  • Bryce Cobb: Tied for 40th place with a 158 (+14) after rounds of 4-over 76 and 82
  • Tyler Andersen: Tied for 51st place as an individual, shooting rounds of 81 for a 36-hole total of 162 (+18)
  • Nathan Menapace: Set a career-low for 36 holes with a 164 (+20), tallying two rounds of 82 in a 59th place tie
  • Jackson Parnell: Recorded a 165 (+21), scoring 6-over 78 and 87 for his two rounds
  • Kolin McKee: Made his season debut with a 169 (+25) after round of 85 and 84, slotting in 79th place as an individual
  • Owen Lutz: Rounded out the individuals for ODU with a 171 (+27), his 6-over 78 in the final round was a career-low after a 93 in round one, finished tied for 85th place
The Panthers will head to Kentucky for the Findlay Spring Invite on March 24th and 25th.
