AUGUSTA, Mich. - The Ohio Dominican Panthers men's golf team traveled north to Michigan for the Davenport Panther Invitational at Stoatin Brae Golf Club on Saturday (Oct. 11) and Sunday (Oct. 12).
The Panthers slotted 4th overall of 12 teams for the 36-hole tournament. Ohio Dominican had their fourth and fifth best rounds of the season as they shot 9-over 293 in the first round with a 294 (+10) in the second round, coming out to a 587 (+19) total.
The Panthers had one of seven eagles, 26 birdies (3rd most) and 98 pars as a team.
- Chase Forsyth: Tied for 1st place at the end of 36 holes with a 3-under 139 after rounds of 1-under 70 and 2-under 69 - tying hjs season-low round of 69
- Lost in playoff for medalist with Cayden Kwan of Davenport
- Led all players with ten birdies - five in each round
- He ended his second round with four birdies on the last five holes to force a playoff, including three straight to finish.
- Nathan Menapace: 8th overall with a career-best 4-over 146, scoring two rounds of 2-over 73
- Owen Lutz: Top individual in a 9th place tie with a 5-over 147; shot 4-over before a second round 1-over 72
- Lutz set career bests with his low round of 72 and 36-hole total of 147
- Had 23 pars for the Panthers, leading the team
- Cian Hughes: Tied for 17th place, going 8-over 150 with round scores of 1-over 72 and 7-over 78
- Garett Dillon: Totaled 153 (+11) in a 31st place tie as an individual, was a career-low 1-over 72 in the first round before an 81 in second round
- Eli Zimmerman: Tied for 35th place, career-low 154 (+12) with rounds of 7-over 78 and 5-over 76
- Notched the lone eagle for the Panthers on the par-5 16th hole in round two.
- Jonathan Campbell: Tied for 37th place with a 155 (+13), shooting 8-over 79 and 5-over 76
- Rune van Den Bosch: Tied for 49th place at 160 (+18) with rounds of 8-over 79 and 81
The team wrap up the Fall schedule in two weeks at the Barton Fall Invitational on October 27th and 28th.
