CEDARVILLE, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican Panthers indoor track and field team battled a number of southern Ohio schools on Friday (Jan. 31) at the Cedarville Collegiate Indoor Invite.
The Panthers smashed one school record, set five top ten performances and had nine personal bests at the Doden Field House. The men's team scored 26 points for a sixth place finish of ten teams. The women's team slotted eighth of 11 teams at 21 points.
1st Place Finishes
- Peyton Proffitt: 3.72 meters (12 feet, 2 ½ inches) – 2nd highest mark in program history
2nd Place Finishes
- Virtner Crews III:Â Set the 60 meter school record with a 6.83 second 60 meter finals time while also reaching a NCAA provisional mark; won his 60 meter heat with a 6.94 second run
- Women's 4x200 Relay (Pemberton, Ambos, Haring, Yancey): 1:52.23 time, the 3rd fastest relay in program history
- Men's 4x200 Relay (Crews, Chandler, Obas, Prewitt): 3rd fastest mark in the record books of 1:33.90

- Eayuel Gebrtsadik: Season-best time in the mile (4:24.91); 7th fastest in program history

- Faith Yancey:Â Ran an 8.03 second 60 meter final after tying her PR of 8.01 seconds in the prelims
- Ismael Obas:Â 60 meter PR of 7.05 seconds in the prelims with a 7.06 second time in the finals

- G'Nae Morrison: Clocked in at 8.25 seconds for the 60 meter finals, qualified for the finals with a 8.15 second prelim time (won her heat)

- Owen Wilhelm: 9th place in the high jump, topping out at 1.74 meters
- Shyla Pemberton: 10th place in the 400 meters with a 1:05.45 time
- Joseph Chandler: 12th place in the 60 meters with a PR of 7.18 seconds in the prelims
- Eva Dulle:Â 12th place for the mile with a 5:44.32 (2nd fastest mile time of the season)
- Nikane Ambos:Â Season-best 8.40 seconds in the 60 meter prelims, finishing 16th overall
- Brandon Ammons: 17th place in the shot put in his collegiate debut (10.56 meters)
- Gabrielle Reed:Â 18th place in the mile with her season debut at 6:09.72
- Blake Murgatroyd:Â 18th place for the mile with a PR of 4:43.40
- Aileen Castillo: 21st place finish and collegiate PR in the mile (6:14.52)
- Anna Blackstone: Season-best mile time and just missed a PR with a 6:15.68 final time
- Felix Prewitt:Â 25th place for the 60 meters with a 7.35 second prelims time
- Alyza Camp: Season-best time in the mile (6:31.35) for a 25th place finish
- Jamarion Hall: 29th place in the 800 meters with a 2:14.99
- Yagouba Barry: Season-best time for the 800 meters in 31st place at 2:16.33
ODU makes a return trip to Ashland next weekend for the Jud Logan Light Giver Open. Competition starts on Friday (Feb. 7) before it wraps up on Saturday (Feb. 8).
