WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican Panthers indoor track and field team competed in the Otterbein Invite and the UCS Pole Vault Summit on Saturday (Jan. 18) afternoon in the second meet of 2025.
Battling against Otterbein, Capital, Transylvania and WVU Tech, the Panthers finished second place as a team on the men's side with 59 points. The women were third of four teams, totaling 39 points.
1st Place Finishes
- Virtner Crews III: 6.93 seconds in the 60 meter finals, improving from 6.95 seconds in the prelims as the fastest time
- Merrick Shorter: 8:51.49 in the 3000 meters (3rd fastest time in program history)
- Aboubacar Soumahoro: Ended in a first place tie with 1.85 meters in the high jump, cleared height on first try to earn ten points
- Tied his previous PR of 1.85 meters
- Faith Yancey: 8.14 second finals time for 60 meters after a 8.26 second prelim time (4th best time in prelims)
- Eva Dulle: 800 meter PR of 2:39.48
2nd Place Finishes
- Faith Yancey: 27.65 seconds in the 200 meters, setting a collegiate PR
- Eva Dulle: Just missed PR with a 5:48.93 time for the mile
- Eayuel Gebrtsadik: PR of 8:52.90 in the 3000 meters (5th best time in program history)
3rd Place Finishes
- Aboubacar Soumahoro: 9.05 second PR in the 60 meter hurdle finals after a 9.54 second prelims time

- Isaac Eugene: 7.10 seconds in the 60 meter finals after a 7.16 second prelims time
- Naomi Haring: Second fastest 400 meter time of the season (1:09.09)

The Panthers head to Ashland next weekend for the Ashland Invitational.
