COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio Dominican Panthers men's basketball coaching staff continued to push for the 2024-25 signing class to complete the roster that will take the floor this season. Head coach
Casey Kaufman announced the addition of eight more signees on Tuesday (Sept. 24).
Kaufman brought in three freshman in the Spring and now brings the class to 11 - five freshman and six transfers.
FRESHMEN
Anthony Ezeonu - J. Addison School (Canada)
- 6'5", 210 pound guard from Galway, Ireland
- Averaging 16.5 points per game, 12.5 rebounds per game, 4.2 assists per game
- Won the Physical Education and Leadership Award, named Third Team All-League for the EIBC National Conference
- Coach Kaufman - "We saw Tony on the AAU circuit this past spring and loved what he brought to the table. Tony brings needed versatility to our roster with the ability to defend multiple positions and operate in multiple areas of the floor offensively. Tony's low maintenance attitude and desire to improve stood out to in the recruiting process and we can't wait to coach him."
Derek Goodman - Olentangy Berlin High School
- 6'4", 175 pound guard from Delaware, Ohio
- Four-time Scholar Athlete with a 4.2 GPA
- 2024 Division I All-Ohio Honorable Mention
- Finished high school career with 1,298 points
- Coach Kaufman - "Derek is a local player from Olentangy Berlin who we recruited throughout the high school season. Derek has a dynamic skill set and a great feel for the game, he fits our style of play very well. Derek is a high character person and we're thrilled to have him with us to build our program."
TRANSFERS
Terrance Broughton - University of Central Missouri (Cass Technical High School (Mich.))
- 5'10", 170 pound junior guard from Detroit, Michigan
- Played five games for the Mules last season, averaging 2.2 points and 2.0 rebounds
- Originally started collegiate career at Malone under Coach Kaufman - averaging 4.5 points in 20 games as a freshman
- 2022 District and Regional Champion for Cass Technical
- Coach Kaufman - "Terrance is a familiar face. We had the opportunity to recruit "T" out of high school and coach him in his first year of college at Malone. T brings an infectious enthusiasm to everything he does and he understands our program and what we expect from him. Terrance will give us an experienced pure point guard with leadership qualities."
Antonio Carter - West Virginia State University (White Oak High School (NC))
- 6'2", 185 pound graduate student guard from Jacksonville, North Carolina
- Appeared in 43 games for the Yellow Jackets, averaging 4.5 points, 1.5 rebounds and shooting .473 from the floor over two seasons. Played in 30 games last season with nearly five points per game.
- Spent time at Lenoir Community College during the 2020-21 season
- Coach Kaufman - "Antonio is an experienced guard who played for some very talented teams at West Virginia State. Antonio was very efficient shooting it at WVSU, which was important to us when we evaluated transfer players. There will be some challenges picking up a new system, but "AC" has the ability to play in a fast paced offense and contribute to winning."
Ibrahim Drame - Quincy University (Carre College Rotterdam (Netherlands))
- 6'7", 207 pound senior forward from Rotterdam, Netherlands
- Made appearances in 27 games for the Hawks last season, spanning 13.6 minutes per game with 2.8 rebounds and 3.7 points
- Played at two different community colleges prior to Quincy - Mineral Area CC (2022-23) and Cloud County CC (2020-21). Averaged 8.3 points and 4.8 rebounds in 31 games at Mineral Area while scoring 11 points and grabbing 5.3 rebounds per game at Cloud County CC.
- Coach Kaufman - "Ibrahim is another player we connected with in the transfer portal. "Ibo" comes to us from Quincy University and brings us quality size that can play fast offensively. Ibo also gives us rim protection on the defensive end. We needed to find players that are physically ready for this level and Ibo gives us another older player who's mature enough to compete against size."
Jaylan Green - Transylvania University (Frederick Douglass (Ky.))
- 6'1", 180 pound graduate student guard from Lexington, Kentucky
- Four-year player at Transylvania, including back-to-back HCAC All-Conference First Team nods in 2023 and 2024
- Three-time HCAC Athlete of the Week
- Led the Pioneers in scoring with 17.8 points per game last season (5th in the conference)
- Helped Frederick Douglass as a senior get to the Region Semifinals, while averaging 16.7 points and 4.8 rebounds per game
- Named Second Team All-City, 42nd District All-Tournament Team, 11th Region All-Tournament Team, and All-Region Team
- Coach Kaufman - "We connected with Jaylan early last spring through the transfer portal. We needed experience in the backcourt and Jaylan showed some things that we believe will translate well to our offense. Jaylan is a joy to be around and he connected well with our players on his visit. We look forward to coaching him."
Donato Joseph - Weatherford College (Tennessee Prep Academy)
- 6'7", 200 pound junior forward from Calgary, Alberta, Canada
- Started in 30 games last season, averaging 7.8 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.1 assists at Weatherford
- NTJCAC All-Conference Honorable Mention for the 2023-24 season
- Coach Kaufman - "Donato is an experienced post player who played at a high level of junior college at both Lamar and Weatherford. Donato's physicality and ability to stretch defenses will be notable assets to our team as he works to pick up our system and compete for playing time."
Carson Seeman - Augusta University (Archbishop McNicholas High School)
- 6'3", 185 pound junior guard from Cincinnati, Ohio
- Appeared in 43 games for the Jags, averaging 2.8 points, 1.4 rebounds and shooting .544 from the floor over two seasons. Played in 29 games last season with 3.3 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game.
- Averaged 12.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 2 steals per game
- Named GLC-coed runner-up Player of the Year, First Team D2 District 16 and Third Team All-Southwest Ohio
- Coach Kaufman - "Carson comes to us after two years at Augusta University and prior to that he played for McNicholas High School in Cincinatti. Carson's brings a veteran presence to the wing position and he will be counted on for his defensive versatility and rebounding ability. Carson's best skill is his competitiveness and those guys always find a way to contribute to winning."
