Panthers Host NC4K Classic, Finish Seventh As Team

GROVE CITY, Ohio - The Ohio Dominican Panthers women's golf team hosted their annual Spring event - the NC4K Classic on Monday (April 8) and Tuesday (April 9). 

On the links of Pinnacle Golf Club in Grove City, the Panthers shot rounds of 320 and 315 to total 635 (+59) in seventh place. As a unit, ODU had 22 birdies (3rd most) and 103 pars. 

Abbey Dillon (Bolivar, Ohio) was the top Panther finisher in a 19th place finish. Dillon had respective rounds of 79 and 78 for a grand total of 157 (+13). She was the team leader in pars with 23. 

Caroline Tragesser (Murrysville, Pennsylvania) shot a 3-over 75 in the first round before scoring 83 in the second round to slot her second for the Panthers. Her 158 (+14) gave her 24th place on the leaderboard. 

Ana Reed (Denton, Texas) set career-lows with a single round and 36-hole score. Reed shot 83 in round one and 77 in round two for her lowest round. With a 160 (+16), she notched her lowest score of her career in a 26th place tie. Reed and Saffell were tied with the team lead in birdies (six). 

Sydney Devore (New Philadelphia, Ohio) improved from a first round 84 with a 78 in the second round as she tallied a 36-hole 162 (+18). Devore was tied for 30th place overall. 

Meg Saffell (Somerset, Ohio) finished in a 38th place tie as she managed a 165 (+21) for the event. She scored 83 in the first round and 82 in the second round. 

Ellyn Deibel (Lancaster, Ohio) was one stroke behind her teammate Saffell with a 166 (+22), scoring 84 and 82 in her rounds for 43rd place. 

Sarah Ochs (Beavercreek, Ohio) ended the tournament as the top individual for the Panthers with two career bests. Ochs had a low round of 86 before shooting 87 in her other round while setting a low mark of 173 (+29). 

Alana Miller (Dayton, Ohio) just missed her career-low with a 180 (+36) with rounds of 89 and 91. 

Alyssa Newsom (Granville, Ohio) had rounds of 93 and 99 as she shot 192 (+48) for the event. 

The final event for the Panthers before the 2024 Great Midwest Women's Golf Championships will be next week at the Cav Classic in Canton, Ohio on Monday (April 15) Tuesday (April 16).
