OWENSBORO, Ky. - The Ohio Dominican Panthers women's golf team concluded the regular season with the 2024 Great Midwest Championships on Thursday (April 25) and Friday (April 26) at the Pearl Club.
Ohio Dominican finished third overall, tying their best finish at the conference championships in the NCAA era. The Panthers totaled 956 for 54 holes, the fourth lowest score for a tournament. ODU shot 324 and 319 on the first day of action before scoring 313 in the final round.
Abbey Dillon (Bolivar, Ohio) was the highest Panther in the finishing order in a sixth place tie. Dillon automatically qualified for the All-Conference team. She tied a career-low with a 231 (+15) for 54 holes, shooting two rounds of 76 and one round of 79. Dillon led the Panthers with six birdies and added 28 pars. For the second straight year, Dillon was awarded the Elite 26 Award given to the highest cumulative GPA of active championship contenders.
Ana Reed (Denton, Texas) set a career-low with a 240 (+24), tying for 19th place. Reed book-ended a middle round of 79 with two 81 rounds. She converted 29 pars (team-high) and tallied three birdies.
Ellyn Deibel (Lancaster, Ohio) had a a 243 (+27) total for 54 holes, a career-low in 24th place. Deibel shot 86 and 80 before going low with a 77, another career-best. She made five birdies and 26 pars.
Caroline Tragesser (Murrysville, Pa.) tied for 25th place, one stroke behind Deibel at 244 (+28). She doubled up on first day rounds of 82 and capped her tournament with an 80 in round three. Tragesser ended equal with Deibel on pars (26) and tied her teammate Devore with four birdies.
Sydney Devore (New Philadelphia, Ohio) scored 249 (+32) in 30th place. She worked back from a first round 85 with rounds of 84 and 80. Devore made 24 pars and four birdies.
The Panthers will wait to see if they qualify for the 2024 NCAA East Regional when the selections are announced on Monday (April 29). ODU was slotted eighth in the final regional rankings came out last week.
