SUNSET BEACH, N.C. - In the 2024 Spring debut for the Ohio Dominican Panthers women's golf team competed in a co-hosted event in North Carolina.
Ohio Dominican combined with Gannon for the Sea Trail Intercollegiate at the Sea Trails Resort on Thursday (March 7) and Friday (March 8).
The Panthers shot rounds of 315 and 311 for a third place finish with 626 (+50).
Caroline Tragesser (Murrysville, Pennsylvania) tallied a 36-hole score of 150 (+6), tied for the fourth score in program history. She scored a 2-over 74 in the first round with a 4-over 76 in the second round. Tragesser was tied for the team lead and third overall with five birdies and finished with 22 pars. With her fifth place finish, she has her third top five of the season.
Abbey Dillon (Bolivar, Ohio) had respective rounds of 76 and 78 for the tournament to score 154 (+10), finishing tied for seventh. Dillon led all players with 27 pars for the tournament of 36 holes.
Sydney Devore (New Philadelphia, Ohio) moved from a 79 in round one to a 76 in the second round. The sophomore shot 155 (+11) for her 36-hole score in ninth place. She was tied with Tragesser for five birdies and added 18 pars overall.
With rounds of 86 and 81,
Ana Reed (Denton, Texas) totaled 167 (+23) to finish tied for 23rd. Reed had four birdies in the event, tied for fourth.
Meg Saffell (Somerset, Ohio) competed as the top ODU individual as she wrote 171 (+27) on her scorecard. Saffell improved 11 strokes from her round one 91 to shot 80 in the final round. She was tied for 30th place.
Ellyn Deibel (Lancaster, Ohio) had her second best individual and 36-hole score of the season. Deibel had rounds of 93 and 81 for an overall 174 (+30) in a 40th place tie.
Alyssa Newsom (Granville, Ohio) calculated a 176 (+32) with rounds of 91 and 85 in 45th place overall.
Alana Miller (Dayton, Ohio) set personal bests for a single round and an event score. Miller's lowest round of 86, combined with a first round 93 equaled179 - her lowest 36-hole score.
Sarah Ochs (Beavercreek, Ohio) reached a season-low for 36 holes with an 185 total. Ochs shot 92 and 93 for the tournament.
The Panthers will compete at the Findlay Spring Invite in Richmond, Kentucky on March 18-19th.
