PITTSBURG, Kansas - For the second time in the history of the Ohio Dominican track and field team, an individual competed in the NCAA Division II Track and Field National Championships.

Freshman Cole Miller (Chillicothe, Ohio) was the first indoor student-athlete to compete at the highest level in Division II on Friday (March 8). Miller was a participant in the long jump at the Robert W. Plaster Center.

Miller finished 12th overall of 16 student-athletes with a best jump of 7.14 meters (23 feet, 5.25 inches). He reached 7.13 meters in his first jump before going 6.86 meters in his second effort. For his third try, the freshman topped out at his best mark of the championships.

With the 12th place finish, Miller has the highest national individual finish of ODU's competitors at the national championships. Justin Carroll was 18th in the 800 meters in 2018 in outdoor track and field.
