OXFORD, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican Panthers track and field team opened the 2024 Spring season for the outdoor docket with an appearance in the Miami (Ohio) Blizzard Buster on Friday (March 22).
One school record fell as a number of times qualified for the top ten in the outdoor record books for Ohio Dominican.

2^nd Place Finishes

• Aly Diaby – 50.64 seconds in the 400 meters, second in his heat
• Eayuel Gebrtsadik (Columbus, Ohio) – set the school record in the 5K with a 15:20.48 time
• Cole Miller (Chillicothe, Ohio) – 6.56 meters for the long jump in outdoor debut
• Owen Wilhelm (Sunbury, Ohio) – runner up for the high jump with a 1.85 meter best mark

3th Place Finishes

• Women's 4x400 Relay (G'Nae Morrison (San Antonio, Texas), Kassydee Owens (Harlan, Kentucky), Shyla Pemberton (Dayton, Ohio) and Grace Pitt) – 4:19.68 time as a quartet

4^th Place Finishes

• Merrick Shorter (Dublin, Ohio) – 5^th fastest 5000 meter time of 15:30.65

5^th Place Finishes

• Ismael Obas (Columbus, Ohio) – 6.05 meters for mark in the long jump

7^th Place Finishes

• Edward Devaney (Lexington, Ohio) – 2:11.68 in the 800 meters

8^th Place Finishes

• Isaac Eugene (Westerville, Ohio) – 52.05 seconds in the 400 meters

Other Finishes

• Kaelin Pfeifer (Washington Court House, Ohio) – finished ninth overall in the 400 meters with a time of 1:02.85, winning her heat race
• Benjamin Seely (Chesterton, Indiana) – 2^nd overall in his 200 meter heat, tenth place with a 23.48 second time
• Eugene Boahen – 54.06 seconds for the 400 meters to finish 10^th place
• Blake Wilson (Medina, Ohio) – 11^th place for the 400 meters on a 54.55 second time
• Tyler Wallace (Columbus, Ohio) – 12^th place in the 200 meters on a 23.65 second time, finished fourth in his heat
• Gabrielle Reed (Pickerington, Ohio) – 13^th place finish for the 800 meter run, fifth place in her heat at 2:39.47
• Brooke Armbrust (Grove City, Ohio) – 14^th best time for the 400 meters (1:05.86)
• Henry Pierce (Rockbridge, Ohio) – 14^th in the discus with a mark of 33.25 meters
• Aidan Shannon (Columbus, Ohio) – 9:27.08 for the 3000 meters, 14^th place with the second fastest time in program history
• Jana Griffith (Washington Court House, Ohio) – 15^th place in the 400 meter race, clocking in at 1:05.94, just behind Armbrust
• Mustafa Al-Saibawi (Columbus, Ohio) – 30.48 meters in discus debut in first outdoor event, finishing 16^th place
• Rogan Hanson (Craig, Alaska) – 9:43.53 in the 3000 meters for the 5^th fastest time in program history, 16^th place finish
• Jaclyn Strawn (Lancaster, Ohio) – fifth fastest 3000 meter time in program history with a 11:56.66, finishing 17^th overall
• Kylee Henry (Circleville, Ohio) – 18^th place for the 3000 meters (12:34.64)
• Anna Blackstone (Lexington, Ohio) – 12:39.90 final time for the 3000 meters, finishing in 19^th place
• Tyra McClain (Van Wert, Ohio) – 26^th in the 1500 meters with an outdoor PR of 5:43.64
• Alyza Camp (Waynesville, Ohio) – made her 1500 meters debut with a 6:04.04

The Panthers will run in the Yellow Jacket Collegiate Open at Cedarville next Saturday (March 30).
