COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio Dominican Panthers football team plays host to the Findlay Oilers, the defending Great Midwest Champions, on Saturday (Sept. 3) at 12:00 PM in the confines of Panther Stadium for the 2022 season opener.
GAME DAY INFORMATION
OPENING KICKOFF
- Ohio Dominican opens the 2022 season with the Findlay Oilers, the defending Great Midwest champions.
- ODU ended the 2021 season with a 7-4 overall record and a 4-3 conference mark.
- Ohio Dominican is taking the field for the 19th season in Columbus.
- The Panthers have a 12-6 record in Week 1 lidlifters throughout the history of the program. Specifically in home openers, ODU is 12-6 in 18 home openers.
- The Panthers ended the 2021 season with a 21-17 loss at Hillsdale on November 13th, 2021.
- In the AFCA Preseason Poll, both Ohio Dominican and Findlay were listed in the receiving votes category.
- Since 2010, the Panthers and the Oilers have met ten times on the gridiron. ODU holds an 8-2 record against UF, including a 4-1 record in the friendly confines of Panther Stadium.
- Head coach Kelly Cummings returns as many as 19 starters from last season (at least started one game to be counted).
- Kelly Cummings begins his 7th season as head coach with ODU (11th at ODU). He holds a 41-18 record, only sitting five wins from tying Bill Conley (46) for most in program history.
