Panthers Tripped Up By G-MAC Foe In NCAA Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS – The Ohio Dominican softball team concluded its NCAA Division II Softball Tournament run falling to Findlay by the score of 2-0 on Friday afternoon in Indianapolis. The Black and Gold were held in check by Findlay pitcher Morgan Demler who pitched a perfect game and carried her team to victory.

Senior Sydney Long (Ashland, Ohio) was also impressive during the final outing of her colligate career. She allowed two runs in six innings of work and struck out one batter.

The Black and Gold end the season with an overall record of 35-19 and 19-3 in conference play. ODU also claimed its second consecutive Great Midwest Athletic Conference Tournament Championship and earned its second trip to the NCAA Midwest Regional in as many years.

FINAL FACTS & FIGURES

The conclusion of the 2022 season sees the Panthers earn 30-plus wins for the last four consecutive full seasons. ODU has collected 30-plus wins five times during its time in NCAA Division II. It is also the 13th time in 27 seasons that head coach Marcella Vanlandingham has eclipsed the 30-win total in her time as head coach at Ohio Dominican.
