Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

CEDARVILLE, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican baseball team suffered a pair of setbacks in a road doubleheader at Cedarville on Friday afternoon.

The Panthers dropped the opener, 12-3, before suffering a 3-1 loss in the second contest. ODU falls to 11-20 overall, 5-12 in G-MAC play. Cedarville has now won five of its last six outings, improving to 16-17 overall and 10-7 in the G-MAC.

GAME ONE

Michael Knapp (Elyria, Ohio) and Lane Marshall (Wooster, Ohio) combined for five of ODU's six hits in the contest. Knapp drove in two runs as well.

The Panthers jumped out to an early advantage, scoring once in the top of the first. Brennen Hunt (Ashland, Ohio) drew a lead-off walk and later scored on a base hit from Knapp.

Cedarville though, scored 12 unanswered runs, including three in the bottom half of the first inning. The Yellow Jackets also posted a four-run seventh frame in their offensive rally.

Thomas Staab (Bellville, Ohio) logged an RBI single in the eighth, and Knapp went deep for his third homer of the season in the ninth to cap the Panthers' offensive attack in the 12-3 setback.

Mason Lowder (Westerville, Ohio) tossed a scoreless eighth inning to highlight ODU's pitching effort.

GAME TWO

Ohio Dominican was limited to just four hits in the nightcap, but just as they did in Game One, they took the first lead. Michael O'Callaghan (Morrow, Ohio) registered his first collegiate home run in the top of the second inning.

Cedarville matched the Panthers with a run in the bottom of the second, before adding a run in the fourth and fifth frames as well. The Yellow Jackets scored two of their three runs on solo shots, including a two-out homer in the fourth.

Marshall Flynn (Heath, Ohio) made his first collegiate start, going 5.0 innings, allowing three runs on eight hits. Flynn also struck out three batters. Marshall worked around two hits to toss a scoreless inning in relief.
