COLUMBUS, Ohio - Freshman outfielder
Gavin Lawler added another accolade to his first year resume as he was voted ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Second Team for the Midwest Region.
After he was named Great Midwest Freshman of the Year and First Team All-Conference, Lawler was one of two freshman to be named All-Region in the Midwest.
Lawler led the Panthers this season in ten categories and was second on the team in three other areas.
- 1st in Runs (51), Doubles (17), Triples (4), Home Runs (11), Total Bases (108), Slugging % (.844), Hit By Pitches (8), On Base % (.500), Stolen Bases (17), Average (.391)
- 2nd in Hits (50), RBI (35), Walks (21)
At the end of the regular season, Lawler sat first in the G-MAC in slugging percentage (2nd in the Midwest Region) and on-base percentage.
He finished his freshman campaign with 17 multi-hit games (2nd on the team), including four three-hit games. He had ten games with at least 2 runs batted in and had a team-high 19-game on-base streak.
