COLUMBUS, Ohio - After playing at home in four of the first five weeks, the Ohio Dominican Panthers football team will head to the city of Painesville, Ohio for Week 6 to face the Lake Erie College Storm at Jack Britt Memorial Stadium.

OPENING KICKOFF

The Panthers shutout the Walsh Cavaliers last week 21-0 for the 5th straight Homecoming win and 11th consecutive win over the Cavaliers.

ODU scored 14 points off Walsh interceptions in the second quarter, en route to a shutout.

Jake Byrd (Fort Wayne, Indiana) threw for 286 yards passing. He was 27-of-46 for the day with two touchdowns (one passing and rushing) along with two interceptions.

Andrew Wolf (Ashland, Ohio) caught seven passes for 79 yards and a touchdown, his third straight game with a score.

Jordan Pantaleo (Dresden, Ohio) rushed for a 3-yard TD as he totaled 40 yards on the ground.
Travis Whittaker (Gahanna, Ohio) led the Panthers with 51 yards rushing.

CeAyre Hall (Cincinnati, Ohio) had 2.5 tackles for loss and a sack as
Daishaun Hill (Rocky River, Ohio) made a team-high eight tackles.

LAKE ERIE AT A GLANCE

Lake Erie is 1-4 overall and 1-2 in conference play as the season wanders into Week 6. The Storm have dropped three straight games.

The Storm fell in both GLVC/G-MAC crossover games to McKendree (38-37) and Southwest Baptist (52-31) as well as at Tiffin (52-27).

Of the five games played this season, Lake Erie has played in three one-score games. The first three games were decided by less than six points, including two losses of under four points.

In the Tiffin game, Lake Erie tied the game at 21 in the first five minutes of the second quarter. Tiffin scored the next 31 points and outscored the Storm 31-7 in the final 41 minutes of game action.

For the season, Lake Erie averages 30.4 points scored, 120.8 rushing yards, and 313.2 passing yards per game on offense. The Storm are allowing 39.6 points, 149.0 rushing yards and 316.0 passing yards per contest. The Storm rank sixth in D2 in passing offense and 22nd in passing efficiency (151.91).

Lake Erie has gained 12 turnovers this season, including a G-MAC best seven fumbles.

D.J. Boldin is in his first season at the helm of the Storm, after being an assistant coach last season under previous head coach Reilly Murphy. Boldin coached for the San Francisco 49ers for three seasons and is the younger brother of former NFL WR Anquan Boldin.

In the 2022 G-MAC Preseason Poll, Lake Erie was selected for an eighth-place tie with Walsh, earning 16 votes each. The Storm were 5-6 in 2021 with a 2-5 G-MAC mark.

Since starting the 2021 season 3-0 for the best start in program history, Lake Erie has lost ten of the last 13 games.

Gerald Gardner is the gunslinger under center for the Storm's 6th ranked passing attack. He has completed 110 of 175 passes for 1,512 yards and 13 touchdowns. He leads the G-MAC in passing yards, passing touchdowns, passing yards per game and passing efficiency. Within Division II also, Gardner is neck-and-neck with
Jake Byrd in passing categories. In passing touchdowns, Gardner is seventh while Byrd is eighth. The roles are reversed for passing yards and passing yards per game, where Byrd is seventh with Gardner behind. Gardner's best game as QB1 this season was 428 yards against Southwest Baptist.

Raphael Jones Jr. is the leading rusher for the Storm after tallying 72 carries for 314 rushing yards and five touchdowns. Jones Jr. is tied for second in the conference for rushing touchdowns.

Robbie Sanders has 193 rushing yards on 42 carries and two touchdowns.

Nate Dantley, Peyton Brown and Jovohn Tucker are Gardner's leading targets at WR. Dantley holds the team lead with 30 catches for 420 yards, scoring twice. Brown is second with 433 yards on 23 catches and three touchdowns. Tucker, who had a school record 207 yards against Southwest Baptist in Week 4, has 19 catches for 338 and a team-leading five touchdowns (4th in G-MAC and 16th in D2).

Nathan Tager has 17 points kicking, including 11-of-12 on extra points. His season-long field goal is 32 yards.

Cameren Grodhaus sits at 52 tackles, a team and G-MAC high.

Michael Cox & Shawn Lawson each have a team-leading two sacks.

- Ohio Dominican will face the undefeated and sixth-ranked Ashland Eagles next Saturday (Oct. 15) at Jack Miller Stadium, beginning at 7:00 PM.
